Variants and progression
The 29 May 2026 demo announcement says fighting with a beast earns XP that unlocks variants. That update added Ibex and Rhino and reworked the existing beasts. The launch announcement distinguishes eight beasts from their variants and cosmetics; variants may have different stats and abilities.
The saved sources do not provide a complete per-beast starting-perk table, individual unlock conditions, or a tested variant comparison. Beast XP progression should not be confused with the shared training bar described in the beginner guide.
Bestiary is the official achievement for unlocking all beasts; its historical player unlock percentage was 0.1% on 17 October 2026. That figure does not reveal unlock order, explain why players lack an achievement, or identify a secret character. A beast’s win-achievement percentage does not tell you its share of runs or its success rate.
